Due to the growth of the Iron Ore opportunities and other mineral commodities in general, it was imperative to set up the company as a standalone unit to provide more focussed attention to the Iron Ore and other mineral commodities trade.

Rationale

Southern Africa particularly South Africa and Zimbabwe is endowed with vast deposits of high grade Iron Ore highly sought after by the International Markets. There is a huge gap to be bridged concerning the existing barriers posed by lack of Credit Lines to trade in the commodity. Xwena is fortunate to enjoy access to both the sources of the commodity as well as International Buyers. Typically, most of the Miners prefer to deal simple FOT or FOB-ASWP- Southern Africa basis. On the other hand, the International Buyer prefers to deal through Letters of Credit on mostly CIF-International Destination basis.

Xwena Iron Ore (Pty) Ltd is uniquely positioned, through its network of partners and Xwena Group support structures to provide the bridging platform between the Southern African miners and International Buyers, through sourcing, marketing, contract mining, processing, arranging financing and logistics to move commodity from source to the required destination.

The Product

Iron Ore is the fundamental ingredient in the production of steel. We have through Offtake Agreements, Mining Contracts and Processing Contracts access to high grade Hematite and Magnetite Iron Ore in both Lumpy, Fine and Pellet form.

Quality is critical, because of the wide network of miners on our books, we can diligently match the qualitative requirements of the International Buyer to the relevant miner producing the required specification (both in terms of chemical and physical conditions).

Our Logistics

Our logistics infrastructure, processes and partners serve as the link between our operations and our clients. They ensure our product is able to reach customers across the Globe. Our logistics chain is managed by our sister company Xwena Logistics. They possess an innovative, agile and dynamic management team strategically placed to deliver well-developed-bespoke logistical solutions thereby enabling Xwena Iron Ore to meet International Buyers timelines (production and shipping)

We have access to the four main ASWP-South African export channels namely Saldanha Bay, Port Elizabeth, Richards Bay and Durban. We also have access to the main ASWP-Southern Africa export channels of Maputo and Beira Ports in Mozambique, Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, and Windhoek in Namibia. Product is transported to the Ports via both Rail and Road networks, utilising the seamless Southern African Railways Interchange System.

The Market

We are a leading supplier of high-quality Iron Ore to the local market and International Market. We are in the process of opening up the European Markets of Turkey and Switzerland based clients. We are also growing our footprint in the supply chain of other commodities abundant in Southern Africa; chrome, coal, copper, manganese, lithium, tantalite, nickel, clinker, aluminium, and rare earths.

Our focus is on creating wealth and sharing value and uplifting the lives of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Ultimate goal being the establishment of beneficiating infrastructure to unlock the mineral wealth for the SADC region through partnership with International technology and finance.
